Yes, Lavender considers various treatment options to provide safe, effective, and personalized care for our clients. At times, this may include controlled medications. While Lavender recognizes that controlled medication may be an important part of a clients treatment plan, we feel it is safest for individuals taking more than 1 controlled medication to be treated by an in-person provider. Therefore, any individual seeking prescriptions for more than 1 controlled medication at Lavender will be referred for in-person care. Please see additional information here.

Yes, in most cases your Lavender psych NP will be happy to complete documentation for you. NPs must have in-depth knowledge of your history and treatment before completing documentation. NPs usually prefer to have known you and seen you consistently for 3 months before they feel comfortable attesting to more significant accommodations. There is also a cost associated with completing such paperwork.
-
Letters for accommodation, emotional support, and other circumstances are billed at $75. Disability paperwork (such as FMLA) is billed at $150.
-
We save you time by offering instant online bookings and excellent care without having to see an in-person practitioner. This means: no phone tag trying to book an appointment, no travelling to and from your therapist’s or psychiatrist’s offices, and no waiting rooms. We also provide both medication management and therapy in a single appointment with our psychiatric nurse practitioners, allowing for continuity of care and cost savings.
-

No, the online nature of our service means that our nurse practitioners have to be more cautious than if they were seeing you in-person as part of a traditional office visit. For this reason, we unfortunately can't help everyone who wants to use our services; click here to see what we can and cannot treat. Our team follows strict guidelines to make sure we only write you a prescription when it's safe and appropriate to do so. If it’s not in your best interest to use Lavender, we’ll advise you to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner in person.
If your medical or psychiatric condition(s) require ongoing physical assessment we will provide you with referrals for in-person care.

No, you must be located in-state during your visit because legally, your psych NP is only licensed to see you in the state where your care was initiated. If you're a student and away during the summers in a different state, unfortunately your psych NP will not be able to treat you, unless Lavender also serves that area, in which case, we can temporarily re-assign you to another psych NP licensed in that state.
